Making Your Wedding Ceremony Extraordinary By Incorporating Unforgettable Wedding Day Traditions Through-Out Your Ceremony

To hear some spiritual conservatives speak about wedding day traditions, you'd think that they had existed since the first step of time and not ever change. They go about mainstream wedding vows, the role of woman and man in marriage, wedding ceremonies, and the same, pretending that it's an indestructible tradition that reaches back to the dawn of time. In point of fact, the notion of a wedding day tradition is almost totally foreign to our culture. Conventional weddings meant something much different than even the most traditional weddings nowadays. Nowadays, a wedding tradition is something like using romantic country wedding songs for your first dance. In times past, country wedding songs weren't even close to being on the list!

Back in the old days, a wedding was basically little more than an arrangement for the transfer of property. The bride would be given away by the father to be the husband's property from then on. Even though you can see echoes of this wedding tradition in contemporary weddings, few people in our society would concur that we have a better, more open way of looking at marriage.

That is not to say that there aren't wedding day societal customs in our civilization - for example, the sweet country wedding songs for the first dance. It is just that weddings vary significantly from family to family and culture to culture. In some families, it's almost an obligation to get drunk at the wedding day. If you aren't seen to be really enjoying your-self, consuming copious amounts of booze and food, you're insulting your hosts and their family wedding day societal customs. In other families, a traditional wedding means a fairly somber and sober event. People have fun, but the most vital purpose of the wedding day is to mark a lifelong commitment.

This is why such a great number of people today decide to make-up their own wedding day societal customs. They write their own wedding day vows, arrange their own wedding day ceremonies, and come up with novel, unconventional theories for the party. As a matter of fact, for such an universal custom, it is astounding how many variations you can get away with in weddings!

My favorite wedding tradition is something that started with my grandma. Even though every one in our family has chosen different styles of wedding decorations, given slightly different wedding vows, and served varied food at the wedding day reception, one thing has always remained the same. At every wedding day, we release butterflies when the bride and bridegroom kiss. It sounds sort of silly, I know, but if you saw it, you'd understand. You truly need to be there to witness how beautiful an effect it's! It really marks the day as special, an event meant to be recalled forever.
