Look At The Useful Nikon 50mm 1.8 Review And Find Out Why This Lens Is Such A Joy To Work With

No Nikon 50mm 1.8 review can be perfect without referring to the really crisp pictures that this lens delivers, all for a very low cost.

The focal length of 50mm is supposedly the closest in range and depth to what the human eye interprets, and as such it has enjoyed many years in the spotlight as an effective general purpose lens, doubling as a 75mm portraiture lens on an APS-C DSLR body.

As well as great picture quality and affordable price, this lens is really light weight and little enough that it will simply live in your pocket, making it an ideal portable lens for no additional effort.

Optically, the Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens consists of 6 elements arranged in 5 sets (with the aperture system featuring 7 diaphragm blades). The least distance of focusing is 0.45m and the filter size is 52mm.

As was mentioned earlier, this lens is extremely handy at simply 64x39mm and light at only 155g.

You might feel that because this lens is so cheap, that its picture quality must be substandard also. However, the build quality of this lens is rather good with a compounds of metal and polycarbonate as the key elements.

The comparatively little rubber focus ring has a very smooth function and the front part does not revolve with a polarizer attached so this is one more positive too - we all know how frustrating a rotating front portion with a polarizer can be.

All in all the Nikon 50mm 1.8 does not enjoy the same popularity that a lot of the leading Nikon lenses do, but it is yet a quiet and very capable performer in its own way.

It does not come up short badly in any particular area, possibly the only bad point would be that it is soft on the borders wide open and perhaps carries a slight contrast deficiency too.

Of course for the cost, these minor details can easily be ignored when buying this awesome Nikkor 50mm 1.8.
